MANIAC REIMAGINES THE BEACH BOYS

Brian Wilson was live on the radio this morning, talking about his new album, Brian Wilson Reimagines Gershwin.
The concept is just that; Brian completed 14 Gershwin compositions in his own signature style.   I demanded that the car get especially quiet when the morning show hosts on Triple J asked,
"Would you like someone to do this kind of thing with your work, Brian? ...To pay a tribute to Brian Wilson's work, in the future maybe?"
To which Brian nearly fell out of his chair replying,
"Oh my God!  My Gosh! If that happened, I'd be thrilled to death!"
"Who would you like to take care of those duties?" They asked.
"Oh, there's a new duo called Maniac, who I'd like to hear do something like that."

Seriously.  He said that.  It was fully sick.
We found an archive of the show to post, because seriously, in all humility, who would believe us?!  You would think he'd have said something like,
"Well, maybe Elton John or Paul McCartney... who knows, maybe they'd do something like that." But he didn't say that. He definitely said Maniac.
Hear it for yourself. HOW WILD?!

So with the Maniac debut full-length Mania finished and set for release in March 2011, we're going to hammer away at our new alter-album mission!  We'll be putting up downloads of each track as we complete them, until Maniac Reimagines the Beach Boys is complete, so stick a bookmark on us, and Brian, we hope you ARE thrilled, and also that the "to death" bit is a figure of speech!
